¨“…nothing in the experience of the average American at the end of the twentieth century matches the wrenching transformation experienced at the beginning of the century by an immigrant raised as a peasant in a Polish village little changed from the sixteenth century who within a few years was helping to construct the avante-garde skyscrapers…in the city of “big shoulders” besides Lake Michigan.

-Robert Putnam, Bowling Alone, p.373

The country of Immigrants, or also known the United States of America in North America has the highest number of immigrants among all the countries in the world right now. During the late 19th century and the early 20th century, there were millions of people migrating to USA because of reasons like “perception of USA as land with golden paved roads”, and for escaping religious, racial and political persecution. Most of the Polish immigrants settled in Chicago at that time, and were soon contributing as the work-force of this “great” nation. Only few years were left, when the world would be seeing the first earthly phenomenon since the Christ, World War.  Immigration leads to more innovation, a better educated workforce, greater occupational specialization, better matching of skills with jobs, and higher overall economic productivity. US is considered as a Super-Power right now, but this was a long journey for the country from being tribal to becoming posh, and from being a nobody to getting those people to work for himself. The immigrants were at the center of the industrial revolution, and from working at their farms to working for some huge company for a better life-style was their decision, which made a huge impact. Working according to hours for things that they aspire to own, the use of new products, new comforts, new luxuries is the “American dream”. Now it was possible for people to feel wanted and special, while being an average. Industrialization made some believe in things bigger than themselves and other that they are better than others. And because of the USA being connected with almost every other country, they have influence over them.
